A closed sky with even light today, with an easy breeze from the NE and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Ney should come off windblown banks where food collects. The day holds up well from night into morning. Work the productive water thoroughly. Biting air and slow fish: small baits, long pauses.

Lac Ney is one of the Nord-du-Québec waters in Quebec. It lies 213 metres above sea level. It covers about 21.98 sq km, which means weather matters as much as tactics. The perimeter is close to 91 km, and wind can be flat in one arm and rough in the next. It is among the larger waters listed here for Nord-du-Québec. The nearest town is Kuujjuaq, 234 km away. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 1201 km away. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Public occurrence data for Nord-du-Québec names Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac Ney decides where the fish sit.
Between January at about -24°C and July at about 11°C, the water has a wide range to work through. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. The lid usually goes in mid June, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. On average, mid June opens the water and late October closes it again. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Lac Ney runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Public data does not answer the access question here. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Lac Rivier at 12 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing on Lac Ney should be assumed from this page alone.
