Soft grey light all day today, with a persistent wind from the ENE and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Lac Aqutik will be around the weed line and any gaps in it. The best of it runs the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. A hard-frost feel to the day; keep expectations modest.

The Nord-du-Québec entry here is Lac Aqutik, in Quebec. Height above sea level is 210 metres. This is sizeable water at about 2.62 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. The edge covers about 17 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. You are 250 km from Kuujjuaq. Then Puvirnituq, 323 km, and Salluit, 360 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Nord-du-Québec cover Arctic charr, brook trout and lake trout. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. At Lac Aqutik the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
On the long-term average, July reads 12°C and January reads -24°C. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Look for the thaw near mid June; the fishing lifts straight after. Climate figures give an open season running mid June to late October. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Anyone fishing Lac Aqutik regularly works to that calendar.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Lac Desclaux, 2.8 km out. Nothing on Lac Aqutik should be assumed from this page alone.
