A sharp, clear morning turning into a bright day, with a decent W wind working the banks with the glass holding level. Activity on Lac Champagne should centre on shallow cover and weed edges. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Morning
You will find Lac Champagne in Chaudière-Appalaches, Quebec. The surface lies 508 metres up. Roughly 67 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. At about 8.6 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. On our Chaudière-Appalaches list it sits near the top for size. Linière is the closest place, 12 km off. Lévis is the closest city, 119 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Chaudière-Appalaches, recorded fish include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker, sauger and channel catfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. The shape of Lac Champagne decides where the fish sit.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -13°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Anyone fishing Lac Champagne regularly works to that calendar.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Lac Coburn is 1 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Champagne in what we hold.
