Lac Yvan Fishing Guide, Chaudière-Appalaches, Quebec

• Overview

  The Chaudière-Appalaches end of Quebec holds Lac Yvan. Around the bank it is pine and birch. Surface area runs to about 2 hectares — small enough to read in one session. It is a small entry by Chaudière-Appalaches standards. Start from Linière, 15 km down the road. After that come Saint-Côme--Linière at 25 km and Saint-Georges at 36 km. This one is safely inside the county line.

• Where to Fish on Lac Yvan

  We hold no depth figure for this one. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Open biodiversity records for Chaudière-Appalaches list lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Lac Yvan fishes better once you know its edges.
