A closed sky with even light today, with steady pressure of wind from the SSW and pressure sitting still. Lac Celon should fish best around points where shallow meets deep today. Set the alarm around the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Celon is listed under Mauricie, Quebec. It stands 445 metres above sea level. Leblanc is the closest place, 84 km off. For a city, Saguenay is 245 km off. Near neighbours: Lac Vinet at 0.8 km, Lac Ulric lies 1.1 km on, Lac Zenon at 1.2 km, Lac Albe lies 1.2 km on and Lac Scott at 1.6 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Species logged across Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Celon responds to conditions more than to tactics.
In an average year July sits at 16°C and January at -19°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. The season on Lac Celon rarely departs from it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Lac Vinet is 0.8 km distant. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Celon for certain.
