Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with barely a breath of wind and a falling glass. Start the search at Reids Lake along inflow corners and shaded margins. The day holds up well from morning through afternoon. Work the productive water thoroughly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Reids Lake is listed under Summit County, Utah. The surface lies 10,272 feet up. It is pond-in-a-field scale, with the far bank a short lob away. On size it sits at the modest end of our Summit County list. Kamas lies 19 miles from the water. After that come Oakley at 19 miles and Francis at 20 miles. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. County-wide records name brown trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, brook trout and Utah sucker. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Treat Reids Lake as a water to read rather than to cover.
The range across the year is 19°F to 55°F. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Look for the thaw near late May; the fishing lifts straight after. From about late May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan around that when you fish Reids Lake.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Notch Lake sits 0.3 miles off and takes the overflow. Confirm access to Reids Lake locally before you travel.
