No direct sun expected today, with a mirror surface most of the day with the glass slipping lower. Most of the action on Lake Marion should come off points where shallow meets deep. The productive run goes morning through afternoon. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lake Marion falls in Wasatch County, part of Utah. This is rolling bush ground. Small enough that any disturbance crosses the whole surface. It is a small entry by Wasatch County standards. For a base, Kamas sits 17 miles out. Provo sits 48 miles out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Others worth noting: Trial Lake at 0.4 miles, Star Lake after 0.5 miles, Lily Lakes at 0.5 miles, Diamond Lake after 0.6 miles and Ponds Lake at 0.6 miles. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Records held for Wasatch County cover brown trout, rainbow trout, brook trout, black-spotted cutthroat trout and Utah sucker. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Treat Lake Marion as a water to read rather than to cover.
Long-run averages give July about 55°F and December about 19°F. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Break-up comes around late May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice usually gives way near late May, and forms again about mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. It holds true on Lake Marion more years than not.
We hold no note on access for this one. The closest car park is half a mile away, so pack accordingly. Mapping shows a campsite some half a mile from the water. A picnic area is mapped about half a mile away. Toilets show in mapping about half a mile away. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. If the gate is shut, Trial Lake at 0.4 miles is the nearest alternative. Treat access at Lake Marion as something to verify.
