Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a light chop building from the WSW with the glass holding level. Give the closest cover to deeper water the first hour at Williams Pond. The numbers single out the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

You will find Williams Pond in Chaudière-Appalaches, Quebec. The surface lies 550 metres up. This is a tiny water, and one quiet approach covers all of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Chaudière-Appalaches list. The town to know is Linière, 20 km out. Lévis sits 126 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Survey and observation records for Chaudière-Appalaches include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Read Williams Pond before you fish it and the day goes better.
The seasonal spread runs -13°C to 17°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. At Williams Pond the season follows that pattern closely.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Cape Horn Pond, 1.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Williams Pond.
