Rain moving through today, with the surface near flat with the glass holding level. Give the seam between weed and open water the first hour at Petit lac Ariel. A day for grinding out a result rather than chasing a peak. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

The Laurentides entry here is Petit lac Ariel, in Quebec. The ground round it is rolling bush. Surface area runs to about 2 hectares — small enough to read in one session. On size it sits at the modest end of our Laurentides list. The closest town, Rivière-Rouge, is 27 km distant. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne sits 108 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth figures are not published for this one. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Petit lac Ariel fishes better once you know its edges.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -15°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Petit lac Ariel runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Part of this sits inside or beside Parc de récréation du Mont-Tremblant, so read the notices. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Ariel sits 0.5 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Petit lac Ariel in what we hold.
