Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a light chop building from the ENE with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Veillon should come off bays that hold the day's warmth. The forecast backs the stretch from the day. Ride the conditions while they last. The cold will pin fish to deeper, stable water.

Quebec holds Lac Veillon, in Nord-du-Québec. It sits in northern bush country. Roughly 3.54 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. There is roughly 17 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Puvirnituq lies 134 km from the water. It is 1372 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Nord-du-Québec, recorded fish include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Veillon the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Climate records put July near 11°C and January near -25°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Break-up comes around mid June, and the run that follows is short and strong. Climate figures give an open season running mid June to late October. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Plan around that when you fish Lac Veillon.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Lesdiguieres at 18 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Veillon in what we hold.
