Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lac Trevis along the first drop-off and weed lines. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec is where Lac Trevis sits. What surrounds it is spruce and muskeg. The water covers some 21 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Shoreline comes to about 4.9 km, small enough to learn in a day. For supplies, Métabetchouan is 21 km out. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 89 km away. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Public occurrence data for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean names northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Trevis repays a walk before the first cast.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -17°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan around that when you fish Lac Trevis.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac a Roger at 1.4 km is the sensible second choice. Where Lac Trevis is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
