Wind pushing hard across the water today, with a firm SSW blow with a settled glass. Lac Louis should fish best around the first drop-off and weed lines today. Everything points to the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Louis sits in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, out in Quebec. It stands 349 metres above sea level. At roughly 2 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. Start from Métabetchouan, 19 km down the road. Chambord lies 22 km off, Desbiens another 27 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. At Lac Louis light and wind decide more than tackle does.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -17°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Lac Louis runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Should this one be busy, Lac a Pit is 0.9 km off. Check the position at Lac Louis before loading the car.
