Dull, settled light over the water, with barely a breath of wind with a settled glass. On Lac Trefle, work the shallows early and the drop later first. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Trefle stands in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. This is mixed forest country. It measures about 27 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. With 5.6 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. Val-d'Or sits 96 km from here and is the nearest stop. Malartic is 105 km and Notre-Dame-du-Lac 118 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Public occurrence data for Abitibi-Témiscamingue names northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. The shape of Lac Trefle rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -15°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Lac Trefle runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. For a change of water, Lac Brecey is 1.2 km distant. Nothing on Lac Trefle should be assumed from this page alone.
