Flat light and a covered sky today, with a light SSW breeze with a settled glass. The productive water at Lac Tims will be around the seam between weed and open water. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

You will find Lac Tims in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. The land about it is boreal forest. Small at around 6 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. The nearest town is Senneterre, 116 km away. Leblanc lies 119 km off, Manawan another 135 km. Others close at hand: Lac Viola 1.1 km, 1.9 km out stands Lac Turk, Lac Buff 1.9 km, 2 km out stands Lac Goulet and Lac Morrison 2 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Lac Tims light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Seasonal averages run from -18°C in January up to 16°C in July. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Tims.
The access position is unclear from public sources. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Viola, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Lac Tims should be assumed from this page alone.
