A grey, even sky over the water, with an easy breeze from the SSW with the glass holding level. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Turk. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Lac Turk fishes better once you know its edges.
Average temperature peaks around 16°C in July and bottoms out near -18°C in January. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Turk.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. If the gate is shut, Lac Tudor at 1 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing on Lac Turk should be assumed from this page alone.
