Flat light and a covered sky today, with flat calm through the day with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Sigouin along inflow corners and shaded margins. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec is where Lac Sigouin sits. This is northern bush ground. The water covers around 2.24 sq km, which puts most of it out of reach from the bank. On our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list it sits near the top for size. The nearest place of any size is Leblanc, 111 km away. Further out sit Senneterre (112 km) and Lebel-sur-Quévillon (140 km). No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Species logged across Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. At Lac Sigouin the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -18°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. On Lac Sigouin the same rules apply, with local timing.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Failing this one, try Lac Barrette, 2.3 km away.
