An even grey lid over the water, with the surface near flat and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac Bingo will be around the weed line and any gaps in it. A grinding day likely, with the night worth the effort if any is. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Quebec holds Lac Bingo, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. The surface lies 462 metres up. Around 13 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The edge runs 1.9 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. 108 km away sits Leblanc, the nearest town. Gatineau is the closest city, 286 km away. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Survey and observation records for Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. On Lac Bingo the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Averages here run 16°C at the top of summer and -18°C at the bottom of winter. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Plan around that when you fish Lac Bingo.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Failing this one, try Lac du Chien, 0.9 km away. Signs at Lac Bingo carry more weight than any list.
