Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a mirror surface most of the day and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Les should come off the shaded margin through bright spells. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Les is set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. This is northern bush country. It measures about 42 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The edge runs 3.9 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. The closest town, Senneterre, is 108 km distant. Further out sit Leblanc (114 km) and Lebel-sur-Quévillon (137 km). No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Across Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recorded fish include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Les a short move beats a long cast.
On the long-term average, July reads 16°C and January reads -18°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Time your trip to Lac Les by conditions rather than dates.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. The nearest alternative is Lac Tip, 0.8 km out. For Lac Les, the notice at the access point is the final word.
