A cloudless sky and strong light today, with just enough N wind to ripple the surface and the barometer holding steady. Whatever swims in Lac Scott should be near the calm side of the wind. The useful hours run the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Outaouais in Quebec is where Lac Scott sits. It sits in mixed forest country. The water measures roughly 4 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. The closest town, Maniwaki, is 1.5 km away. Saint-Raphaël is 14 km and Saint-Boniface 14 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Scott fishes better once you know its edges.
Climate normals give 19°C for July and -13°C for January. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Scott.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. A made slipway is 1.4 km from here, which settles the boat question. A carry of 1 km from the nearest parking is the price of fishing here. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Should this one be busy, Lac Godin is 1.6 km off. Check the position on Lac Scott before loading the car.
