A sharp, clear morning turning into a bright day, with an easy breeze from the WSW with the glass holding level. On Lac Sabot, work shallow cover and weed edges first. The strongest window runs from night into morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

In Quebec, Lac Sabot belongs to Laurentides. Height above sea level is 422 metres. With some 14 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Around 2.8 km of margin, front to back. Start from Morin-Heights, 11 km down the road. The nearest city of size is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 48 km away. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Laurentides records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch among the fish reported. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Fish Lac Sabot to its features, not to its size.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -13°C on the long-run figures. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Sabot.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Réserve naturelle du Lac-Notre-Dame covers this ground, which means extra rules to check. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Lac en P is 0.8 km off. For Lac Sabot, the notice at the access point is the final word.
