Flat light and a covered sky today, with a soft SSW wind with the glass holding level. Expect most activity at Lac en P around the weed line and any gaps in it. The numbers single out the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac en P lies within the bounds of Laurentides, Quebec. The country round it is mixed forest from end to end. The water measures roughly 6 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Nearest town is Morin-Heights, 10 km off. After that come Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard at 14 km and Saint-Sauveur at 15 km. Close by you also have: 0.7 km away is Lac Henri, Lac Sabot 0.8 km away, 0.9 km away is Petit lac Long, Lac aux Pins 1 km away and 1.4 km away is Lac Perdu. This one is safely inside the county line.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Take Lac en P a stretch at a time.
Seasonal averages run from -13°C in January up to 18°C in July. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac en P.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Henri at 0.7 km is the sensible second choice. Treat Lac en P as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
