Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a gentle ripple from the SSW with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Notre-Dame along points where shallow meets deep. Save your energy for the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Notre-Dame lies in Laurentides, in Quebec. Tidal water begins 33 km from here. Roughly 64 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. At about 7.9 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. It ranks high for size among our Laurentides listings. Morin-Heights at 11 km is the nearest place to stop. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 49 km distant. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Reported across Laurentides: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. The county list is broader than any single water. Read Lac Notre-Dame for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Seasonal averages run from -13°C in January up to 18°C in July. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about late November in an average year. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. The season on Lac Notre-Dame rarely departs from it.
The access position is unclear from public sources. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac a la Croix, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Notre-Dame for certain.
