Soft grey light all day today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface and pressure going nowhere. Activity on Lac Rossignol should centre on the weed line and any gaps in it. A slow day overall; the morning is the best of a quiet lot. Go lighter and slower than usual. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Rossignol is one of the Outaouais listings for Quebec. The surroundings are pine and birch. This is a pocket water of some 4 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Our Outaouais list holds plenty of bigger water. Nearest place of any size is Ripon, 14 km away. Saint-André-Avellin follows at 16 km, then Papineauville at 23 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Outaouais list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Rossignol that means starting tight and working out.
On the long-term average, July reads 19°C and January reads -13°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about early December. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Expect Lac Rossignol to follow that timing.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Should this one be busy, Lac aux Atocas is 1.8 km off. Signs at Lac Rossignol carry more weight than any list.
