Solid cloud cover today, with a whisper of wind from the S and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Teal should be near the shallows early and the drop later. Save your energy for the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lac Teal in Outaouais, Quebec. It lies 224 metres above sea level. It covers about 5 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. Start from Ripon, 19 km down the road. It is 65 km to Orléans, the nearest city. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Fish Lac Teal to its features, not to its size.
In an average year July sits at 19°C and January at -13°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly early December. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Anyone fishing Lac Teal regularly works to that calendar.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Should this one be busy, Lac Benjamin is 1.7 km off. Confirm before you fish Lac Teal.
