Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a consistent blow out of the S and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lac Rosa should be near the shallows early and the drop later. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Rosa is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean listings for Quebec. The surface lies 394 metres up. This is a pocket water of some 9 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. The closest town, Métabetchouan, is 43 km away. Chambord follows at 47 km, then Desbiens at 50 km. Within a short run: Petit lac Picode at 0.8 km, Lac Pied 0.9 km away, Lac Louisette at 0.9 km, Lac Dunyan 1.1 km away and Lac Picode at 1.4 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Fish Lac Rosa where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Seasonal averages run from -17°C in January up to 17°C in July. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Plan any trip to Lac Rosa around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Should this one be busy, Petit lac Picode is 0.8 km off. Signs at Lac Rosa carry more weight than any list.
