A closed sky with even light today, with a firm S blow and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lac Plat should be near the shallows early and the drop later. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Look for Lac Plat in Mauricie, Quebec. Height above sea level is 479 metres. Small enough that any disturbance crosses the whole surface. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Mauricie. Start from Métabetchouan, 47 km down the road. Beyond it, Chambord at 53 km and Desbiens at 54 km. Also worth knowing: Lac du Cornet just 2 km, Lac Jeannine at about 2.5 km, Lac Louise just 3 km, Lac du Detour at about 3.2 km and Lac du Berger just 3.2 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth figures are not published for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Plat gives up more to patience than to distance.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 16°C, while January sits near -16°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Lac Plat runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac du Cornet, 2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Plat in particular, ask before you travel.
