A closed sky with even light today, with a decent SSW wind working the banks with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Parachute should come off sheltered bays and points. Set the alarm around the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Night
Look for Lac Parachute in Mauricie, Quebec. Taiga runs right down to the water. Roughly 12 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Roughly 1.7 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. For a base, Leblanc sits 75 km out. After that come Chapais at 102 km and Chibougamau at 109 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Mauricie cover northern pike, brook trout and walleye. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Parachute the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -18°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. The season on Lac Parachute follows the weather closely.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Should this one be busy, Lac de la Vasiere is 0.4 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Parachute in what we hold.
