Overcast skies today, with a soft SSW wind and no real change in pressure. Activity on Lac Oshet should centre on the first drop-off and weed lines. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Oshet sits within Outaouais in Quebec. It sits in pine and birch country. At about 15 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 2.0 km of margin, front to back. Saint-Boniface at 37 km is the nearest place to stop. Maniwaki follows at 48 km, then Saint-Raphaël at 60 km. What else is close: Lac Quebriac roughly 0.7 km, Lac Incourt sits 1.2 km out, Lac Valliere roughly 2 km, Lac Sapeque sits 2.8 km out and Lac Tomasine roughly 2.9 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Oshet fishes better once you know its edges.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -15°C in January. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Lac Oshet runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Public data does not answer the access question here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. The nearest alternative is Lac Quebriac, 0.7 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Oshet in what we hold.
