A closed sky with even light today, with a faint SSW drift and pressure sitting still. Lac Opossum should fish best around windblown banks where food collects today. A grinding day likely, with the evening worth the effort if any is. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

In Quebec, Lac Opossum belongs to Outaouais. Everything around it is mixed forest. At roughly 3 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Outaouais. The nearest place of any size is Saint-Boniface, 75 km away. Further out sit Ferme-Neuve (83 km) and Maniwaki (88 km). Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Outaouais records list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Opossum gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Between January at about -17°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around late November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Opossum.
Public data does not answer the access question here. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Sporange sits 1 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position at Lac Opossum before loading the car.
