Rain moving through today, with just enough SW wind to ripple the surface and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Lac McCann will be around the first drop-off and weed lines. A grinding day likely, with the night worth the effort if any is. Save the long walk for a better forecast.

Outaouais in Quebec is where Lac McCann sits. Elevation runs to 273 metres. About 3.14 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. Around 23 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. It is among the larger waters listed here for Outaouais. Deep River is the closest town at 39 km. Chalk River is 46 km and Petawawa 58 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac McCann the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Expect July to average close to 18°C, with January the cold end at about -15°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac McCann.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. For a change of water, Lac Long is 2.2 km distant. For Lac McCann in particular, ask before you travel.
