A soft, muffled morning under mist, with a kind S breeze on the water and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Lac Manque around structure within a cast of the bank. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Look for Lac Manque in Mauricie, Quebec. The setting is taiga on every side. Roughly 11 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. There is roughly 2.4 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. It is high ground by Quebec standards. Weymontachie is the closest town at 37 km. Beyond it, Leblanc at 54 km and Saint-Félicien at 99 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Anyone new to Lac Manque should walk it once before setting up.
The seasonal spread runs -18°C to 16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Expect Lac Manque to follow that timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. The nearest alternative is Lac Pourri, 0.9 km out. For Lac Manque in particular, ask before you travel.
