A grey, even sky over the water, with light air out of the NW and pressure sitting still. Lac Louise should fish best around the margins and the shelf beyond them today. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Look for Lac Louise in the Capitale-Nationale part of Quebec. Salt water lies 20 km off. About 10 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. The full circuit measures close to 1.2 km on foot. The closest town, Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, is 15 km away. Sainte-Foy is the closest city, 59 km away. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Public occurrence data for Capitale-Nationale names lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. The shape of Lac Louise decides where the fish sit.
Expect July to average close to 19°C, with January the cold end at about -14°C. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about late November in an average year. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Time your trip to Lac Louise by conditions rather than dates.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. The nearest alternative is Lac des Portes de l'Enfer, 0.7 km out. Confirm before you fish Lac Louise.
