Dull, settled light over the water, with a whisper of wind from the SW and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac Loon will be around inflow corners and shaded margins. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast.

Out in Outaouais, Quebec, sits Lac Loon. Everything around it is pine and birch. It measures about 47 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Some 5.7 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. It ranks high for size among our Outaouais listings. For supplies, Deep River is 30 km out. It is 157 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Take Lac Loon a stretch at a time.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -14°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. On Lac Loon that shapes the whole year.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Lance at 2.6 km is the sensible second choice. Treat Lac Loon as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
