Dull, settled light over the water, with flat calm through the day and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lac Liotot along shallow cover and weed edges. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Liotot lies within the bounds of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. Elevation runs to 334 metres. The water covers some 43 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. With 5.2 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. Val-d'Or is the closest place, 100 km off. Notre-Dame-du-Lac lies 101 km off, Malartic another 105 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lac Liotot the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -15°C. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Time your trip to Lac Liotot by conditions rather than dates.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. The nearest alternative is Lac Jan, 1.3 km out. For Lac Liotot in particular, ask before you travel.
