Rain moving through today, with a faint S drift with the barometer flat. On Lac Labrecque, work any hard bottom among the soft first. A grinding day likely, with the evening worth the effort if any is. Scale down and fish slowly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Labrecque is one of the Côte-Nord waters in Quebec. Country round the bank runs to spruce and muskeg. At about 18 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 2.4 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Saint-Honoré lies 117 km from the water. Forestville follows at 118 km, then Saint-Fulgence at 119 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Treat Lac Labrecque as a water to read rather than to cover.
The range across the year is -19°C to 16°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about mid May. The season between ice runs from about mid May to mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Lac Labrecque runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Failing this one, try Lac Linda, 0.5 km away. For Lac Labrecque in particular, ask before you travel.
