Drifting cloud with decent bright gaps, with a gentle ripple from the SSW with a settled glass. The fish at Lac Josh are likely to sit near inflow corners and shaded margins. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Josh lies within the bounds of Outaouais, Quebec. This is mixed forest ground. It runs to roughly 34 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. Roughly 2.9 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. It is among the larger waters listed here for Outaouais. Saint-Raphaël is the closest place, 19 km off. Further out sit Maniwaki (29 km) and Saint-Boniface (38 km). No border sits close enough to matter.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Josh the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -14°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Lac Josh runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Lac Rondeau at 1.1 km is the nearest alternative. Ask locally about Lac Josh if anything is unclear.
