Flat light and a covered sky today, with the WSW wind calling the shots today with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Harold is the weed line and any gaps in it. A hard day on paper; the evening edges the rest. Lower the pace and stay patient. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

You will find Lac Harold in Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. Elevation runs to 519 metres. At about 76 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge covers about 7.5 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. For supplies, Kuujjuaq is 268 km out. Then Labrador City, 374 km, and Wabush, 380 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Species logged across Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. On Lac Harold the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 12°C, while January sits near -26°C. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Look for the thaw near early June; the fishing lifts straight after. On average, early June opens the water and late October closes it again. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Lac Harold runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. For a change of water, Lac Chalet is 6.6 km distant. Treat Lac Harold as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
