Flat light and a covered sky today, with an easy breeze from the E with the glass holding level. Activity on Lac Dorillard should centre on the calm side of the wind. A long productive spell runs afternoon into evening. Make the first hour count and build on it. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

Look for Lac Dorillard in the Nord-du-Québec part of Quebec. The bank is 496 metres above sea level. At some 1.30 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. Around 8.4 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. The nearest town is Kuujjuaq, 300 km away. Saguenay is the closest city, 798 km away. Within a short drive: Lac Montbrison 6.6 km away, 14 km out stands Lac Vaudrey, Lac Favery 17 km away, 22 km out stands Lac Lefrancois and Lac Martha 24 km away. This one is safely inside the county line.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Dorillard responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Averages here run 12°C at the top of summer and -26°C at the bottom of winter. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Look for the thaw near early June; the fishing lifts straight after. Break-up sits around early June on average, with the water closing again about late October. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Lac Dorillard that shapes the whole year.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. For a change of water, Lac Montbrison is 6.6 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Dorillard in what we hold.
