Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac Flety along shallow cover and weed edges. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Within Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, you have Lac Flety. Around the bank it is northern bush. You are 31 km from Normandin. Saguenay is the closest city, 143 km away. Also within reach: Lac Estillac 0.9 km off, Lac du Heron out at 1.3 km, Lac Commana 1.9 km off, Lac Faillant out at 2.1 km and Lac a Diner 2.1 km off. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac Flety the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Between January at about -18°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. The season on Lac Flety rarely departs from it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. The nearest alternative is Lac Estillac, 0.9 km out. Treat Lac Flety as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
