Look for Lac Eagle in Outaouais, Quebec. Height above sea level is 256 metres. It measures about 21 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. About 3.2 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. The closest town, Deep River, is 26 km away. Beyond it, Chalk River at 27 km and Petawawa at 31 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth figures are not published for this one. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Lac Eagle responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Long-run averages give July about 18°C and January about -14°C. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. That shapes the year on Lac Eagle.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Egan, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Lac Eagle before loading the car.
