Solid cloud cover today, with mild air moving in from the SSW and no real change in pressure. The productive water at Lac de l'Araignee will be around bays that hold the day's warmth. A slow day overall; the morning is the best of a quiet lot. Go lighter and slower than usual. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

In Quebec, Lac de l'Araignee falls inside Outaouais. This is lake country bush country. Surface area is around 64 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge covers about 7.0 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. Size puts it in the front rank of our Outaouais list. Deep River lies 25 km from the water. After that come Chalk River at 26 km and Petawawa at 30 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Lac de l'Araignee repays a walk before the first cast.
On the long-term average, July reads 18°C and January reads -14°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. It holds true on Lac de l'Araignee more years than not.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac de la Cabane at 1.2 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac de l'Araignee in what we hold.
