Lac du Gore is one of the Laurentides listings for Quebec. The water sits 454 metres up. The water covers some 24 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. A shoreline of some 2.4 km keeps the choices simple. Val-David at 4.7 km is the nearest place to stop. Then Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, 5.3 km, and Val-Morin, 6.1 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. On Lac du Gore a short move beats a long cast.
Temperature averages peak at 18°C in July and bottom out at -14°C in January. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. That shapes the year on Lac du Gore.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. For a change of water, Lac Didi is 1.2 km distant. Treat Lac du Gore as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
