  Lac des Pins sits in Mauricie, out in Quebec. The country round it is mixed forest from end to end. At about 13 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The bank runs about 1.7 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Head to Sainte-Thècle, 21 km away, for anything you forgot. It is 73 km to Trois-Rivières, the nearest city.
