A wet system passing over today, with just enough SSW wind to ripple the surface and the barometer holding steady. Whatever swims in Lac de la Sentinelle Solitaire should be near any hard bottom among the soft. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Lac de la Sentinelle Solitaire sits within Nord-du-Québec in Quebec. The bank is 351 metres above sea level. It measures about 45 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Shoreline length is close to 5.7 km, and each section fishes a little differently. Head to Chapais, 29 km away, for anything you forgot. Saguenay sits 343 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Records held for Nord-du-Québec cover Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac de la Sentinelle Solitaire the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
The warmest month averages 16°C, the coldest about -20°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Plan around that when you fish Lac de la Sentinelle Solitaire.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Split sits 2.8 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac de la Sentinelle Solitaire, the notice at the access point is the final word.
