Solid cloud cover today, with the surface near flat with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac de la Pegmatite along shallow cover and weed edges. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

You will find Lac de la Pegmatite in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. It sits at 306 metres above sea level. Roughly 12 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. With about 1.5 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. Saint-Isidore at 36 km is the nearest place to stop. It is 175 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Lac de la Pegmatite that means starting tight and working out.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -15°C at the bottom of winter. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. On Lac de la Pegmatite the same rules apply, with local timing.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Chausse-Pieds at 1.7 km is the sensible second choice. Treat access at Lac de la Pegmatite as something to verify.
