Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with dead-still conditions and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Duquette is sheltered bays and points. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Lac Duquette is a Quebec water. It sits in lake country bush. Roughly 37 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The edge runs 4.5 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Saint-Isidore sits 35 km from the bank. It is 180 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Abitibi-Témiscamingue records list northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker among the fish reported. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Fish Lac Duquette where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
The year swings from about -16°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. That is the shape of the year on Lac Duquette.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Some banks are open only from a marked point. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac des Mouffettes, 1.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Duquette, the notice at the access point is the final word.
