A closed sky with even light today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Dabo should come off sheltered bays and points. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Dabo is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean listings for Quebec. This is northern bush country. This is a pocket water of some 5 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Normandin sits 85 km from the bank. The big place round here is Saguenay, 201 km distant. Within a short drive: Lac Barou a shade over 0.7 km, Lac Protee about 1.1 km, Lac Galant a shade over 1.6 km, Lac Chevremont about 1.9 km and Lac Dubert a shade over 2 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Fish Lac Dabo where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -19°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Anyone fishing Lac Dabo regularly works to that calendar.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. For a change of water, Lac Barou is 0.7 km distant. Check the position at Lac Dabo before loading the car.
