Solid cloud cover today, with almost no wind to speak of with a settled glass. Lac Cadol should fish best around any hard bottom among the soft today. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

You will find Lac Cadol in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. The water sits 345 metres up. Small at around 5 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list. For supplies, Val-d'Or is 109 km out. The big place round here is Gatineau, 235 km distant. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Across Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recorded fish include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Cadol that means starting tight and working out.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -15°C in January. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Cadol.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. The nearest alternative is Lac Ulster, 0.9 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Cadol in what we hold.
