Fresh rain topping the water up today, with an easy breeze from the SW and steady pressure. The productive water at Lac Brown will be around inflow corners and shaded margins. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Brown is an Outaouais water, Quebec side. The surroundings are lake country bush. The water covers some 21 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. About 2.1 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. The town to know is Deep River, 33 km out. Further out sit Chalk River (42 km) and Petawawa (56 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac Brown a short move beats a long cast.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Plan any trip to Lac Brown around it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. The nearest alternative is Grand lac Slim, 1.7 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Brown in what we hold.
