Heavy overcast holding through the day, with light air out of the WSW with the glass holding level. On Lac Argent, work bays that hold the day's warmth first. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Read Lac Argent for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -17°C in January. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. On Lac Argent the same rules apply, with local timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. The nearest alternative is Lac L.-G., 0.6 km out.
